Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid on mid shift to night shift. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Philippines office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role
The GBS Finance and Accounting Analyst is responsible for overseeing and analyzing the company's accounts receivable and accounts payable processes and Treasury. This role involves close collaboration with the Conduent Team, a third-party service provider, to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and receipts. The analyst is also responsible for month-end closing activities, including calculating provisions for doubtful accounts, posting manual journals, preparing reports, and working closely with various business contacts to align and resolve business requirements. Additionally, the role requires adherence to GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements, serving as the main point of contact for internal and external audits. The analyst identifies and drives resolution for accounting or control-related issues within their area and leads process improvements and innovations to streamline existing process.
What You'll Do

Perform General Ledger functions; assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Identify, interpret and analyze potential accounting risks and issues

Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts

Identify and execute internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures

Partner with Finance to determine accounting implications of transactions and perform analytical analyses to utilize when making all material business decisions

Assist with internal and external financial reporting - including analyzing consolidated results, drafting SEC documents and management review reports, ensuring quality, and administering strict timeline

Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement

Research and interpret new accounting standards and brainstorm how each applies to GM as well as comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Proficiency in accounting software, knowledge of accounting principles and practice, strong analytical skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication (written & verbal), strong problem-solving skills, result-driven, Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or relevant field

Three to four years of experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable or accounting role, though fresh graduates with good scholastic records are also welcome.

Willingness to work hybrid on mid to night shift (peak, closing activities).
