JOB TITLE: Area Sales Manager
REPORTS TO: Director, Replacement Sales
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for developing new and existing customers while increasing
units, net sales, and average revenue per tire
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Meet the Management Plan $ sales, unit sales and profit objectives
• Achieve Management Plan Sales, Mix, and Margin Objectives
• Develop and implement dealer incentives and programs for accounts
• Build and develop relationships with customers
• Meet annual requirements centered around unit and pricing targets
• Increase market share within each customer
• Represent the company according to corporate compliance policies when dealing with all Pirelli stakeholders
• Efficiently manage corporate expenditures
• Efficiently manage budgets for Promotions, Point-of-Sale Materials, and Marketing activities for
assigned region
• Provide accurate tread description level forecasts for assigned accounts
• Determine market needs and opportunities
• Minimize and manage channel and market conflict
• Be a liaison between customer and all North American departments to ensure the needs of all
Pirelli stakeholders are met
• Advise dealers and distributors on policies and operating procedures to ensure functional
effectiveness of business
• Emphasize tread pattern features based on analyses of customers' needs, technical knowledge of
the tread pattern capabilities and limitations, and the environment in which the tire will be used
• Initiate annual sales campaigns and follow marketing plan guidelines in order to meet sales and
production expectations
• Prepare sales presentations and proposals that explain tire specifications and applications
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• College degree preferred
• An auto enthusiast
• Consumer tire or automotive industry experience
• Able to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts customers and large
contracts
• Appreciates need for consistency within company's branding and marketing mix
• Intermediate Microsoft application skills including Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong self-motivational skills and ability to work independently
