Description:
· Support and lead projects to improve quality of processes supporting use of Paint Shop materials.· Determine root cause of defects related to process materials within Paint Shop.· Paint shop consumes the largest amount of natural resources across the plant; it is crucial to constantly be working on ways to reduce energy consumption and water usage for sustainable production of BMW X-Vehicles.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain quality of all materials in paint shop.· Validate and integrate new materials.· Reduce energy consumption.· Manage paint suppliers and escalation topics.· Various production-critical tasks.· Launching BMW Individual Colors and Matte Colors.· Trialing new materials (PVC, wax, clearcoat, etc.)· Energy reduction projects.· Metal and plastic 3D printing.· Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
· Engineering or related Degree.· Knowledge of basic Thermodynamics (Heat and Mass Transfer) and/or basic Material Science.· Willingness to work in a production environment.· Flexible; good at multitasking and prioritizing.· Good at working with people.· Must be an enrolled student during all three rotations.· Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in Major).· Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or University in the United States.· Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.· Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/ week).· Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.· MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICAL TRANSCRIPT.· Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.· THE WORK TERM DATES ARE January 12th – May 15th 2026.
