As a Senior Gearbox Design Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in our high-performance team. This is a technical leadership role within The Cadillac Formula 1® Team powertrain group. You will lead the delivery of innovative, lightweight, and reliable gearbox solutions that meet the demands of high-performance racing under extreme mechanical and thermal conditions. You will:
- Be responsible for the end-to-end design, integration, and continuous development of gearbox assemblies and associated transmission systems
- Act as a key technical interface between design, analysis, manufacturing, and trackside operations
- Oversee complex design projects and mentor junior engineers

What do you need to bring to the team?
This is an opportunity for someone who combines vision, leadership and elevated technical knowledge. You must have:
- Significant experience in the design and development of high-performance gearbox or drivetrain systems in Formula 1®, WEC, Indy Car or an equivalent motorsport environment
- A proven track record in leading complex mechanical design projects from concept through to trackside validation
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent
- High level of expertise in CAD systems (preferably Siemens NX or CATIA 3DX), with excellent understanding of GD&T and precision tolerancing
- Strong understanding of lightweight materials, composite design, surface treatments, lubrication systems, and heat management within high-load rotating systems
- Familiarity with structural validation techniques, FEA collaboration, and fatigue or damage-tolerant design
- Strong working knowledge of FIA technical regulations relating to transmission systems
