The thesis can, for example, cover one or more of the following aspects:
Component development and design in the area of mechanical components such as housings, circuits, gears, bearings, and lubrication
Method development in the areas of strength, vibration, acoustics, kinematics, and materials engineering
Production support and techniques in the areas of 3D printing, casting, plastics, metal, and composite materials
Component-related calculations, design, and simulations in the areas of numerics and analytics
Preferred subject areas and the type of thesis (Bachelor's/Master's/Diploma) can be stated in the cover letter.
Requirements
Studies in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automotive engineering, electromobility, materials engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar fields
Focus: drive technology, design, or similar
Basic knowledge of gear systems (e.g., kinematics, gearing, bearings, strength, lubrication)
Very good knowledge of office tools
Ideally, CAD knowledge in CATIA V5 or knowledge of CAE tools such as ANSYS, PERMAS, ABAQUS, HyperWorks
Ideally, knowledge of gear design programs such as KISSsoft, MASTA, Romax
Ideally, programming knowledge in e.g., Matlab, C++
Language skills: - Good knowledge of German and English
Other / Soft skills: - Independent and structured working style - High motivation and ability to work in a team
