Tasks
We as a team...
...set the highest standards – including in safety. We combine the Porsche-typical values ??of sportiness, performance, and exclusivity with optimal safety in and around the vehicle. Our focus is on passive safety, which optimally protects occupants in the event of an unavoidable accident. Our support area includes full-vehicle crashes, including testing the protective effect in front, side, and rear impact configurations (airbags and restraint systems). We are also a key contributor to the safe design of the high-voltage system in our latest vehicle generations. In short: We support our vehicles throughout their entire lifecycle – from the first brushstroke in design, through development and production, to continuous operation at the customer's site.
Start: March or September
Duration: 5 to 6 months
What to expect?
During your internship, you will be physically or digitally close to the vehicle every day. You will gain comprehensive insights into development at Porsche and, depending on the focus of your studies and your interests, support us in one of the following areas:
Accident Analysis
Research and analysis of field accidents
Review and documentation of accident vehicles
Continued development, maintenance, and data analysis using the Porsche Accident Database
Design
Concept, design, integration, and further development of restraint systems using CATIA V5
Packaging and ergonomics studies digitally and with real prototypes
Familiarization with Porsche design methodology
Testing
Planning, design, and evaluation of component and crash tests
Organization of modifications to prototype vehicles in coordination with workshops
Conducting misuse and pedestrian protection tests on the entire vehicle
Continuing development of scripts for planning and data preparation of the tests
Calculation/Simulation
Modeling/component networking in the entire vehicle using simulation software (ANSA, LS Dyna)
Representation of occupants using various dummy and human models
Evaluation/assessment of simulation results and comparison with Real-world tests
Simulation of pedestrian protection and component tests under various load cases
Creation of automation scripts for more efficient evaluation/data analysis
Use of state-of-the-art methods and tools for data analysis and artificial intelligence
