Job Description
RESULT AREAS / MAIN ACTIVITIES:
- Supports the Purchasing GCF in scouting and pre-selecting suppliers and performs supplier qualification, contributing to the purchasing and global sourcing strategies.
- Ensures, through APQP methodology, that the development of new products and processes is properly implemented at supplier's premises.
- Ensures the performance analysis of each supplier of assigned commodities and the definition of improvement and growth plans by applying best practices and continuous improvement and analyzing gaps between suppliers in the same product category.
- Ensures support to Plant Quality in the claim management when critical issues emerge or an escalation process is required.
- Conducts on-site process audits, verifies the compliance of supplier's quality management system.
- Monitors supplier quality indicators and the publication of dashboards at global level for all suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- In compliance with global SQD guidelines, guarantees the qualification of new suppliers, the proper application of new product development activities through the APQP methodology for suppliers which have been assigned new businesses, supporting Purchasing in the global sourcing strategies.
- Performs supplier process audits according to Automotive standards and methodologies, monitoring the defined action plans and supporting the suppliers to striving for the continuous improvement
- Guarantees the performance monitoring of assigned suppliers, supporting Plant Quality area in defining improvement and growth plans in line with best practices and in subsequently managing them, according to an escalation approach.
- Analyses gaps existing between suppliers in the same product family / commodity and defines the resulting improvement and growth plans, leveraging best practices.
- Supports the suppliers to develop their quality systems to meet the required level.
- Reports on a regular basis, and/or when requested by the Central Function, the overall supplier quality status of his/her assigned basket.
- Geographic locations of assigned suppliers: Thailand and ASEAN (e.g. Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia etc.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- At least 8-12 years of working experience in supplier quality engineering role or similar roles, in Manufacturing environment, preferably in Automotive Industry.
- Automotive tier-1 experience in matrix environment and knowledge of IATF standards are desirable.
- Consolidated Knowledge and application on field of Quality Tools (8D, Ishikawa, problem solving, Control Plan, FMEA, SPC) as well as of international standard IATF16949.
- Good knowledge of the following process technologies would be desirable: pressure die casting, gravity die casting, plastics, rubber, stamping, machining and forging.
- Available to frequent travelling to support above mentioned supplier quality tasks in the assigned geographical areas.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Strong drive and business orientation.
- An analytical mindset and systematic way of working, ensuring a structured problem-solving approach.
- Strong skills of teamworking, effective communication and ability to grow positive professional relationships within the Organization and with external parties.
