The IT Support Specialist is a key member of our operations team, responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and high-performing IT services across the organization. This individual will manage day-to-day technical support, maintain critical systems and hardware, and assist with ongoing technology initiatives. Success in this role requires strong troubleshooting skills, proactive communication, and the ability to work effectively under pressure—particularly in dynamic environments where precision and speed matter. This role plays an essential part in enabling seamless communication and collaboration, directly contributing to our operational success on and off the track.
Responsibilities:
Daily IT Operations
Administer and monitor the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
Proactively manage system upgrades, capacity planning, hardware lifecycle, licensing, and storage needs.
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets; plan and execute procurement with budget awareness.
Ensure full functionality of company printers, including those used in the workshop and on transporters.
Manage Microsoft 365, VPN access, and system security configurations.
Create and maintain business-critical email distribution groups.
Employee Support & Hardware Management
Provide responsive, hands-on support to staff for hardware, software, connectivity, and system issues.
Set up and maintain laptops, desktops, and IT peripherals; ensure new hires are equipped and onboarded efficiently.
Troubleshoot network, VPN, and Wi-Fi connectivity challenges.
Support users with shared folder access and file backup protocols.
Collaborate cross-functionally to solve IT issues that hinder productivity or efficiency.
Trackside Support (Race & Test Events)
Deploy and manage IT infrastructure at race and test sites (approx. 4 events per year).
Ensure availability and quality of necessary adapters, power supplies, and backup components on transporters.
Policy, Process & Compliance
Help develop and enforce IT policies and best practices in alignment with regulatory and cybersecurity standards.
Ensure clear and timely communication to staff about outages, disruptions, or scheduled maintenance.
Maintain consistent onboarding and offboarding procedures to secure company data and access control.
Vendor & Relationship Management
Build and maintain effective vendor relationships, identifying innovative solutions that support team objectives.
Oversee contract negotiation, vendor performance, and delivery of services that meet or exceed expectations.
Budget Awareness
Maintain awareness of the IT budget; manage expenditures responsibly in collaboration with the Team Manager and Finance team.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1–3 years of hands-on IT support experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and foundational networking (Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls).
Prior experience in high-performance or motorsport environments is a plus.
Key Skills & Attributes
Willingness and ability to travel (approx. 4 race/test events annually).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly.
Strong understanding of IT architecture—servers, cloud storage, applications, email systems.

Physical Requirements and Body Mechanics
As part of our Indy racing team, this role involves physically demanding tasks that require strength, coordination, and safe body mechanics. Candidates must be able to:
Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally heavier loads, utilizing proper lifting techniques to prevent strain or injury.
Demonstrate the ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, and twisting, especially in tight or confined spaces, while maintaining proper posture and body mechanics.
Safely handle tools, equipment, and racing components, ensuring ergonomic handling to minimize risks of musculoskeletal injuries.
Be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, often in varying weather conditions, while adhering to safety protocols related to body positioning and movement.
Proper body mechanics are critical to maintaining the safety and performance of our team. Training in safe lifting techniques and ergonomic practices will be provided to support team members’ well-being.
