Job Purpose
Overall responsibility for all Assembly Department (2 lines, 4+ models) new model strategy to ensure accurate reflection of manufacturing characteristic requirements and smooth transition for achievement of regional, local and project targets.
Key Accountabilities
Overall leadership responsibility for all Assembly new model activities, leading smooth hand off from Auto Development Center team to Manufacturing Management Center team and establish systems for sustainability into mass production.
Lead organizational resources (manpower, structure, budget) necessary to achieve operational expectations for tech and training groups.
Evaluate all new model trial stage activities (safety, equipment, systems, training, spec, process, etc.) ensure department readiness
Develop systems to manage PDCA of issues identified by team and ensure resolution of countermeasure activity
Lead department initiatives such as Business Plan, Fundamental Structural Innonvation (FSI), Mono-Z (associate concerns and counter measures) , to gain or share knowledge, promote continuous improvement and foster engagement for entire Assembly team
Drive development by the Assembly team of new ideas/methods to continuously improve new model EA00’s (setting targets for leadership approvals)
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
BS Engineering – or – equivalent experience
8-10 years of new model experience or manufacturing leadership
Developing & Reporting New Model readiness reports to plant senior leadership
Project Management
Strong people leadership skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
