Tasks
At Porsche, we strive to build fast, high-performance, and efficient sports cars that offer a long range in everyday use. This requires the coordination and optimization of a wide range of core characteristics, such as reproducible power delivery during recuperation and acceleration, maximum longitudinal and lateral acceleration, and the coordination of vehicle consumption in different countries.
During your internship, you will gain exciting insights into the development of our sports cars and support us in one of the following areas (performance or efficiency):
Internship in the area of ??"Overall Vehicle Efficiency":
The topic of efficiency describes a key aspect in the development of future sports cars. The goal is to resolve the conflict between maximum performance and maximum efficiency. To achieve this, we define, among other things, the fuel consumption, range, and aerodynamics of our vehicles.
The focus of your internship will be on the following topics:
Vehicle data analysis: Participation in the evaluation and visualization of vehicle usage behavior using tools such as MATLAB.
Competitor forecasting: Participation in the research and evaluation of vehicle data in the market environment. Efficiency Concepts: Support in the evaluation of efficiency concepts, for example, vehicle fuel consumption in cold ambient conditions.
Aerodynamics: Support in the development of aerodynamic concepts and the design of control strategies for active aerodynamics.
Internship in the field of "Whole Vehicle Performance":
The "Vehicle Physics Performance" department is responsible for the typical performance characteristics of our Porsche sports cars: lap times, longitudinal, and lateral dynamics. Here, targets and their physical consistency are determined at the overall vehicle level.
The focus of your internship will be on the following topics:
Performance Concepts: Collaboration in the derivation of physical vehicle concepts with a focus on performance, for example, longitudinal dynamics, lateral dynamics, and lap times.
Processes, Methods, Tools: Support in the development of processes, methods, and tools in systems engineering using tools such as Excel and MATLAB.
Press Tests: Support in the evaluation and forecasting of press tests.
