With the FIA now acting as both the regulator and promoter of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, this role offers a rare opportunity to shape the communications strategy of a major international series from the ground up. As Sport Communications Manager and Media Delegate, you will be at the heart of this transformation — driving visibility, shaping the narrative, and engaging key stakeholders. Reporting to the Head of Sport Communications, the ideal candidate will bring proven experience in both event management and strategic communications, ready to take on this high-impact, high-visibility challenge.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Communication & Planning
- Develop and implement communication strategies in line with the objectives of the FIA Sport Communications Department
- Define and deliver media and PR strategies specific to the FIA World Rallycross Championship and other assigned sporting events
- Contribute to the positioning of the FIA as the global voice of motor sport, promoting its values of sustainability, inclusion, and accessibility
Event Communications & Media Operations
- Act as Media Delegate on-site at FIA World Rallycross Championship events and other competitions as assigned
- Coordinate with FIA Sporting Departments, event promoters and National Sporting Authorities to manage media activities
- Oversee accreditation, media centres, TV crews, press conferences and mixed zones
- Ensure clear media guidelines and protocols are implemented and respected
- Liaise with event officials and stewards on all media-related matters
Event Promotion:
- Work in close collaboration with the FIA World Rallycross Marketing and Event Managers to define and implement the promotional strategy
- Work with local organisers and National Press Officer to plan and execute local media and promotional activities for each World RX and Euro RX event
- Work with championship media and broadcast partners to maximise championship reach and exposure
Content, Social Media & Digital Strategy
- Collaborate with the Digital and Content team to ensure consistent and high-impact messaging across platforms
- Manage editorial content and coordinate the production of media assets in line with brand guidelines
- Monitor digital performance and media coverage to refine strategy and maximise reach
Stakeholder Relations & Reputation Management
- Engage with media, drivers, teams, event organisers and partners to ensure cohesive messaging and strong relationships
- Act as the main point of contact for all media enquiries related to the championship
- Support the management of crisis communications and reputation risks when needed
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with FIA Sporting Departments to align messaging and support integrated communication efforts
- Support communication activities around key sport governance milestones (e.g., World Motor Sport Council, FIA General Assemblies)
Additional Communications Projects
- Contribute to wider sport communication campaigns and projects, including the FIA Awards and mobility–sport cross-promotion initiatives
- Support internal and external visibility efforts for the Sport Division and its priorities
PROFILE:
- University degree in communications, journalism, public relations or other relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in both communications and event management, within the field of motorsport or extreme sports
- A strong understanding of and genuine interest in the world of motor sport are essential
- Experience working within a communications agency is an advantage.
- Proven expertise in English-language communications (C2/native level)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Experience with tools such as Monday.com and Meltwater is an asset
- Proficiency with website CMS and social media platforms
