Description
To assist the Circuit Safety Team Leader in providing a safe operational environment for all users of the Silverstone circuit in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Circuit Safety Team Leader with the day-to-day operations including, race control systems, vehicle fleet, ensuring that equipment checks are completed, management of consumables, cleaning and servicing are undertaken appropriately
- Maintaining equipment and resources in a state of readiness, conducting regular checks and servicing as required. Report to the Circuit Safety Team Leader on status of equipment and personnel.
- To carry out routine maintenance of various safety equipment and vehicles as per weekly checklist
- To manage race control through the efficient operation of CCTV, radio, circuit light panels and various safety systems to provide a safe working environment for all service users.
- Manage incidents from Race control as required, quickly deploying the required resource to required location effectively
- To ensure that daily checks are carried out and recorded for all operational circuit vehicles' - Fire Tenders, Rescue Units, JCB’s and Recovery Truck. Responsibilities include ensuring high operational readiness and being familiar with their operation where trained.
- To carry out pre-activity checks of the circuit which form part of your daily roster and accountability.
- To undertake routine and rescue operations as dictated by Race Control during circuit activity, respond to any incident on track quickly and effectively
- Undertake the role of scene commander as required
- Operate rescue equipment (Cutting, Spreading, power tools) effectively as required
- To undertake the role of Noise Officer as required and manage noise during circuit activity.
- To undertake the role of Incident Logger and support the Race Control operations.
- To undertake the role of light panel operator, responding quickly to incidents reported by radio on track by activating the required circuit light panel via a PC and mouse
- To Carry out the routine activities of a circuit safety marshal e.g., pit lane, flagging, fire tender operations, incident control, prior to the arrival of additional resource
- To carry out first aid as required prior to medical teams arriving
- To ensure routine administration is carried out as per company policies and procedures.
- Support as required ‘Race Day operations.
- Assist in the delivery and recording of all training requirements throughout the casual team
- Promote a positive working environment with a ‘can do’ attitude towards customer service.

Performance Responsibilities
- Work as part of a multi-professional team.
- Ensure that orders for consumables and other equipment requiring replenishment or replacement are presented to the Circuit Safety team Leader for authorisation in a timely manner.
- Ensure all areas of race control are clean, tidy and ready for operation at all times.
- Support the Circuit Safety team Leader in creating an environment and proactive culture within the department which supports the year-on-year delivery of first-class safety services.
- Support the Head of Safety & Safety Team Leader in ensuring the recruitment and retention of appropriately qualified and experienced personnel and contractors meets the needs of the business and follows internal processes.
- Support Circuit Safety team members in maintaining their core competencies
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Able to remain calm in highly stressed situations with the ability to take control quickly and safely
- A background in a Fire and Rescue related occupation or in Circuit Safety Marshalling
- Fire and Rescue Training is desirable
- First Aid qualification is essential
- A current driving licence is essential
