Red Bull Powertrains is a Formula One power unit manufacturing company and the newest addition to the Red Bull Technology Campus in Milton Keynes. Formed in 2021, Red Bull Powertrains is continuously expanding the team of experienced and talented engineers from different backgrounds, all working towards developing a championship winning Power Unit that will comply with 2026 regulations.
In this hands-on ERS Assembly Technician Team Leader role, you will support the operation of the ERS Assembly Team covering all aspects of power unit build, service, and maintenance both at the factory and on event support as required. You will work closely with the Head of Department to drive the development of the department, ensure the seamless day to day operations and maximise the capabilities of the team. Your responsibilities will encompass all facets of in-process manufacturing assembly and preparation, ensuring adherence to the highest standards and meeting agreed delivery timelines.
Main responsibilities:
- Cover all aspects of power train assembly with high emphasis on ERS assembly processes and procedures, Turbocharger, MGUK, and ICE both at the factory and on event as requested
- Provide clear and measurable objectives for the team and individuals and update/improve Skills within these areas
- Manage all build specification, up revisions and component lifing in accordance with Production Control and Technical Operations instructions
- Communicate assembly and facility related quality issues to the appropriate key stakeholders ensuring faults/NCR’s are recorded via the internal business Faults System
- Ensure the team of Technicians are trained to the required standard to operate test and production operations as well as optimise workflow
- Liaise with the Design Engineers, Performance teams, planning and Programme Managers on PU demands and deadlines to ensure correct operation and delivery of hardware of all sub-assemblies
Essential competencies:
- Demonstrate a high level of technical understanding and ERS assembly competence
- Experience working with high voltage (HV) batteries
- Understanding of ERS testing methodologies
- Electrostatic sensitive device awareness and knowledge of safe handling of ESD components
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel to enable operation of internal business systems
