Red Bull Powertrains are looking for a Junior Test Technician to join the Validation & Testing Group, to perform physical testing and maintenance to our ERS battery packs. Maximising the effect of this group will require a highly dynamic approach and use of advanced test technology, automation tools and the latest testing methodologies to ensure the maximum performance and reliability of the Formula One car during race conditions.
As we move into the next phase we are looking for Junior Test Technician to join the team. This role requires a dynamic, passionate and highly motivated individual. A strong and flexible team player, with some practical knowledge in electronics, who works well as an individual to constantly deliver under pressure. The successful candidate will be expected to display a consistent high level of energy and pro-activity to assist Red Bull Powertrains & Red Bull Technology achieve its business objectives.
Key accountabilities of this Junior Test Technician vacancy are:
- Installation and removal of HV battery packs in advanced test beds of varying types
- Maintenance of HV battery packs
- Responsible for maintaining test dyno & rigs run logs and for facility breakdown reporting
- Operating facility and test equipment in line with work instructions and pre-determined procedures
- Basic instrumentation and data logging of the Units Under Test (UUT’s)
- Regular servicing and repairs of test equipment and support these activities on UUT’s where required
- First line analysis and interpretation of test results
- First line fault identification of the UUT’s and /or test rigs, reporting issues appropriately
To be successful in this Junior Test Technician vacancy you will need:
- An apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 vocational qualification or higher in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering and relevant technical experience
- Good manual dexterity and a drive to grow and excel in a hands-on technical role, who can demonstrate basic knowledge in the area of electric systems as well as hydraulics systems
- Good computer dexterity with a strong aptitude for using computers and technology effectively, with the ability to pick up new system and tools with ease
- A strong can-do attitude with willingness to adapt to changing priorities and readiness to learn and develop new skills
- You will have a genuine interest in the field of state-of-the-art HV battery technology
- Some previous exposure in operating modern automated test equipment in High-Voltage (HV) Environments or working on HV systems is desirable
- Must have UK drivers licence & own transport as this role will be based between our 2 sites in Milton Keynes
This role is being initially offered on a 12 month fixed term contract.
