For more than twenty years, our long-term endurance race programme has delivered success and helped build Prodrive’s reputation as the world’s most successful multi-disciplined motorsport business. Our race programme is a complex business that initially sees our engineering team designs and develops our range of GT racing cars in close collaboration with our client. Our production teams then build and deliver race cars to racing teams who we then support to varying levels through our customer engineering and race team operations which compete in the World Championship.As Management Accountant/Business Partner for our race team, you will work with our commercial, engineering, programme and operational teams to provide accurate analysis of forecast and actual costs alongside BOM information to ensure the financial implications of programmes are understood from the outset and well tracked during delivery, supporting programme leads to make informed decisions.Your insight and analysis will identify both opportunities and threats to the performance of the programme in a timely manner. You will then work with operational, commercial and development teams to take appropriate actions. Your impact will lead to improvement in transparent reporting, help drive effective decision making, ensure course correction and help maximise the commercial return.Key Responsibilities
Prepare cost models, cashflows and forecasts to be factored into programme bids and budgets. Track budgets and forecasts against actuals, prepared by the central finance team to identify variances, explanations and actions.Track and report on stock and WIP movements, working closely with sales, purchasing, planning and build teams to keep stock levels at a minimum & support teams on WIP management.Verify business performance data and programme management reporting to ensure costs, margins and other KPI’s are aligned to business operating systems and deliver profitability analysis on a timely basis.Support external reporting for key manufacturers including preparation of financial reports and analysis.Develop and monitor reports that give insight into currents and future financial performance, designed to aid decision makers and drive actions.Develop and monitor relevant actual and forecast variances for programmes and departments becoming the go-to person for financial information / progress on projects vs budget.Develop and improve management information for the leadership team and programme managers.Present financial information in a concise and understandable manner for operational teams to build their understanding and allow effective decisions to be made.Communicate effectively with our wider finance and operational teams to ensure that financial information reflects the realities of the programme.
Who are we looking for?Our ideal candidate will have experience within Business Partnering or Senior Management Accountant roles, within a similar environment. Strong numeracy skills, ideally you will be qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent or qualified by experience. You will have strong IT system skills including Microsoft Excel. The ability or experience to create financial and non-financial reports for operational and executive use is essential. You’ll report the numbers, but you will need to influence them too, adding demonstrable value. You’ll have natural collaborative and influential style and be able to establish credibility and strong relationships quickly. A strong communicator with an ability to interpret then concisely articulate the insights your data supports, you will be comfortable challenging business leaders. Resilient and pragmatic you will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and able to build consensus to drive the right commercial outcomes.What can we offer you?
