Role Overview:
As a key member of the business development team, the BDE plays a crucial role in researching potential sponsors, creating sales collateral and managing the department’s database.
Main Responsibilities:

Creation of Sales Collateral:
-
Create highly appealing and engaging sales collateral – working with in-house designer and copyrighting team to ensure first class visual and written word story telling - to showcase MRUK offerings and benefits to potential sponsors during initial outreach and/or early stage discussions

Inform/create compelling pitch strategies/angles for specific prospects - combining detailed research of the companies themselves and knowledge gained from involvements in early stage exploratory discussions with those prospects - to ensure maximum relevancy and likelihood of success in terms of moving them through our sales funnel

Create tailored sponsorship proposals once discussions with prospects are more advanced, effectively matching their objectives to our offering/assets, but bringing the story of a potential partnership to life in as compelling a manner as possible, incorporating best in class visuals and creative ideas, essentially to ensure prospects feel like they are being offered something very unique which will deliver tangible business benefit

Research and Database Management:

Conduct thorough research to identify potential sponsors, including industry trends, competitors, and market landscapes.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sponsors and potential leads using company databases and CRM systems.

Regularly update and cleanse the database to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Management of Agency Relationships:

Work closely with external agencies to coordinate sponsor-related activities, ensuring effective communication and timely deliverables.

Foster strong relationships with agency partners to facilitate collaborative efforts and maximise sponsorship opportunities.
Requirements:

Excellent understanding of sponsorship as a discipline, in terms of what drives companies to get involved, and thus an understanding/POV on what we as a team need to provide and say to the marketplace in order to maximise our chances of success

Advanced level of strategic thought, ability to digest company annual reports and knowledge gained through discussions with prospects, to then build an offering/sponsorship package/proposal that will deliver against the objectives that they have made clear

Prior experience in business development/sales.

Sports sponsorship, if not motorsport sponsorship, experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create captivating sales decks and compelling messages.

Strong sense of style and what will appeal visually speaking to prospects when it comes to sales decks- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources.

Proficiency in using CRM systems and databases for recording and managing sponsorship leads.

Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data management.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

High level of professionalism and confidence in engaging with potential sponsors.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Travel:
Whilst this is a factory-based role, there may be the opportunity to travel with the team occasionally.
