As part of the Alpine long-term plan to compete for F1 World Championships we are looking to add to our excellent team with individuals who are motivated to significantly contribute to our relentless pursuit of excellence.
Within the Suspension Design Group we have a new vacancy as a Design Engineer. This position will be within our Engineering Office based in Enstone, covering a diverse range of components and systems, providing opportunity to be responsible for a significant contribution to our car performance.
Suspension Design Engineer - The Role
Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer, you will lead the design of complex car parts (structural and non-structural) on the suspension, the brake system and driver controls, ensuring on-time delivery of reliable components meeting all aerodynamic & mechanical requirements.
In close cooperation with the Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics & Stress Departments you will take part to the specification of each system before proceeding with the scheming and detail-design. The scope of the role also encompasses leading the design of tooling when required and liaising very closely with the Production & Quality Groups.
In addition, you will be expected to support the testing of the finished product in the Test & Validation Laboratory as well as its installation onto the car. It will be your responsibility to manage the tasks of fellow engineers or graduates supporting you on the program.
Suspension Design Engineer – The Person
The successful candidate will have a first rate mechanical engineering degree, relevant CAD experience (preferably Catia V5/3DX, surfacing ability important) as well as good knowledge of composite material engineering & manufacture. The role requires a hands-on approach so practical skills will come useful. You must be self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision whilst delivering high quality designs to set deadlines.
Great collaborative skills and attention to detail are essential.
