About the Role:
The Legal Industrial Placement is the ultimate opportunity to kick start your legal career by gaining valuable hands-on experience in a very exciting and fast-paced sector. The Legal Team strive to provide a first-class legal service which adds value to the business, assisting it to perform at its optimum both on and off the track.
The remit of the Legal Team is wide and covers many areas of law including commercial contracts, regulatory, intellectual property, data protection, compliance, property and employment. The Legal Team takes a pragmatic approach to legal challenges and fosters strong relationships with stakeholders through open communication. Proactivity and innovation are integral to Legal Team’s ability to stretch to the ever-diversifying needs of the business.
The successful candidate will support the Legal Team with legal and administrative tasks to contribute to reaching their goals and those of the wider business.
Successful candidates will have:
At least one year left on your studies at the time of taking up the placement in July 2025 and studying towards a law degree or PgDL in law;
Prior experience of working in an office environment (preferably in a legal context) and good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word;
Excellent attention to detail;
Strong organisational skills;
Proven team player;
Ability to take on feedback and improve;
Positive ‘can do’ attitude;
Willingness to go ‘above and beyond’; and
Innovative mindset.

We are looking for a driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven, demonstrable track record of working successfully within a high performing team. The Legal Team requires someone who is resilient, solution orientated, calm when working under pressure (especially within tight timescales), has excellent attention to detail and is extremely well organised.
Skills you could gain from your placement include:
Under the supervision of the members of the Legal Team, you pick up legal and administrative tasks to increase overall capacity and the assist the smooth functioning of the Legal Team. In particular, you will gain experience of working across the following topics:
confidentiality agreements;
queries and negotiations relating to standard purchasing terms and conditions;
academic collaboration agreements;
travel-related agreements;
consultancy agreements;
brand protection matters;
compliance matters (including data protection);
research in topical areas and summarising the same in an easily digestible format;
developing educational legal resources for the business;
assisting with the administration, maintenance and development of the Legal Team precedent contracts and other related documentation;
proof-reading; and
detecting opportunities for process improvement and innovation.

All assessments in the recruitment process are in English: this is the primary language used within the organisation and you need a good level of written and spoken English in the Industrial Placement role.
