Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Body Prep and Support Fabricator. The candidate should be able to build, work on and prepare body panels, body panel support components as well as all related parts necessary to hang a body for the Xfinity car series. The ideal candidate must have the ability utilize sheers, saws, manual punches, bead rollers, belt sander, air grinder, tubing bender, milling machine, torches, lathes, drills, and brakes. The successful individual must be able to communicate well and work closely with team peers. The position requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- MIG/TIG weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. May use various metals including aluminum and steel.
- Create and use patterns and templates to trace out shapes and cut out parts.
- Cut sheet metal, metal plate, and tubing to proper lengths, shapes, and sizes for precision fit.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, and/or bolt component parts required for welding.
- Assemble and/or attach parts and pieces using rivets and various fasteners.
- Preheat work pieces prior to welding or bending, using torches or heating furnaces.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Experience: 3 plus years of experience
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required to perform and perform necessary measurements.
Certifications & Licenses: MIG and TIG welding knowledge required.
Other Requirements: Strong communication skills. Strong mechanical skills and capabilities required.
