We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer - CFD Methods to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role, you will lead a group of multi-disciplined engineers responsible for delivering the required CFD capability for the team’s Aerodynamics department, through improvement to existing capabilities or the development of new methodologies. Principal Accountabilities:
Technical lead and management of the CFD Methods group.
Develop the CFD methodology to continuously improve predictive accuracy, efficiency and reliability of aerodynamic simulations.
Collaborate with aerodynamicists, CFD and software engineers to optimize methodologies and deliver a fit-for-purpose CFD process which are adequate and responsive to the aerodynamic development needs.
Work closely with the correlation group with respect to the analysis of experimental data (wind tunnel and track).
Ensure that CFD simulations and analysis carried out within the department are aligned with the capability of the tools.
Define best practices for meshing, turbulence modelling, and solver settings.
Evaluate and select appropriate CFD software packages and tools.
Overseeing the optimization, maintenance, and support of new and existing toolkits.
Working and contributing across multiple disciplines of the CFD group; including process, external flows, internal flows, thermal modelling, and pipeline development.
Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in CFD technologies.
