We have a number of opportunities for talented individuals to take test engineer roles within our newly re-structured Test & Development (T&D) group. Each T&D Test Engineer position will be responsible for organising and implementing factory test activities for a particular area of the car. You will work in a small group of engineers and technicians, understanding the components on test and how to achieve the required test outcomes.
In this role you will be required to:
Work with T&D lead and design engineers to understand incoming test requirements in your area of responsibility.
To plan, deliver and communicate T&D activities in your area of the department.
Work closely with T&D technicians to ensure correct assembly and setup of your test equipment.
Select the most appropriate sensors and transducers, using your understanding of measurement techniques and how to install these for best results.
Devise test protocols, drive files and control tuning to deliver the best possible test outcomes.
Ensure that results and outcomes are reported according to the department standard templates and stored for future recall.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our equipment and methods.
Demonstrate AMF1 values of honesty, inclusion and collaboration with fellow team members.
Ideal Skills & Knowledge Required:
Have a high-quality degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering.
An enthusiasm for test data analysis and component validation.
Good numeric and data analysis skills.
Understanding of transducers, digital and analogue signals and data logging.
Ideally have several years previous experience working in R&D in motorsport, aerospace or other high-tech industry.
Preference will be given to applicants who have significant experience in a similar role either in motorsport or another high-performance industry. However, applications will be considered for a junior role for less experienced candidates who can demonstrate academic excellence and a high level of extra-curricular commitment. We are of the opinion that experience can be gained but enthusiasm and attitude are of greatest importance.
