PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Brand Head holds a pivotal role in shaping, strengthening, and growing the Stellantis brand portfolio in South Africa within a highly competitive automotive market. This position is responsible for defining and executing automotive brand strategy across vehicle segments, model lifecycles, launch planning, retail activation, dealer network execution, customer ownership experience, and market share growth. The role translates customer, competitor, pricing, digital demand, and vehicle performance insights into clear brand positioning, impactful campaigns, and commercially relevant actions that strengthen brand equity and drive sustainable growth.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
- A master’s degree in a marketing-related field would be beneficial.

- Customer Insight: Strong understanding of automotive customer journeys, including awareness, consideration, test-drive, purchase, finance, delivery, aftersales, loyalty, and repurchase behaviour.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creativity: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative brand, communication, and customer engagement strategies.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in brand management, brand marketing, or strategic marketing, with at least 5 years within the automotive industry, including exposure to vehicle launches, dealer network activation, retail campaigns, and market share performance.
- Significant experience in automotive brand leadership or strategic marketing, with a proven track record of building brand equity, improving consideration, supporting retail performance, and strengthening customer engagement across vehicle segments.
- Experience in leading a team and managing cross-functional projects.
- Experience conducting and applying automotive market, customer, competitor, pricing, and segment research to inform brand strategy, model positioning, campaign planning, and retail priorities.
- Experience working with sales, aftersales, finance, product, dealer network, and regional or global OEM teams, with an understanding of automotive retail processes and commercial challenges.
- Experience managing automotive brand performance, model lifecycle priorities, launch readiness, run-out activity, retail communication, and customer ownership initiatives.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the development and implementation of automotive brand strategy, ensuring alignment across vehicle positioning, model lifecycle priorities, retail objectives, dealer execution, customer experience, and market share ambitions.
- Develop integrated 360-degree automotive marketing campaigns, including PR, media, digital, social, experiential, showroom, test-drive, dealer, and launch activation elements.
- Manage automotive brand and model lifecycles holistically, ensuring consistent positioning, communication, customer relevance, launch momentum, run-out planning, and market activation across each phase.
- Manage relationship of creative and media agencies where relevant
- Oversee and collaborate on vehicle car flow planning, launch availability, stock priorities, model mix, campaign support, and run-out requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with regional and global brand counterparts to ensure local brand execution is aligned with OEM brand standards, global positioning, launch direction, and campaign assets.
- Understand and document the automotive market landscape, customer demand, brand perception, competitor activity, pricing trends, segment movement, digital search behaviour, lead performance, and retail conversion insights to inform brand direction.
- Lead the strategy and execution of new model launches, facelifts, special editions, and lifecycle campaigns, working collaboratively with sales, product, aftersales, finance, logistics, dealer network, and marketing teams to ensure successful market introduction.
- Design and implement effective go-to-market strategies that position each brand and vehicle range clearly against competitor offerings, customer needs, pricing realities, and segment opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with teams across the organization, including sales, product management, aftersales, dealer network, and marketing, to align brand strategy with broader company goals.
- Equip sales, dealer, and frontline teams with the tools, training, and messaging they need to represent the brand effectively, including brand guidelines, launch packs, product walkarounds, competitive positioning, showroom material, lead-handling guidance, and customer-facing content.
- Engage with customers, dealers, and market feedback sources to understand ownership experience, purchase barriers, loyalty drivers, service perceptions, and opportunities to improve brand advocacy.
- Develop compelling automotive brand messaging and positioning that resonates with target buyers, differentiates Stellantis brands in the South African market, and supports awareness, consideration, showroom traffic, retail conversion, loyalty, and advocacy.
