The Role
The Vehicle System Engineer will ensure programming first time quality on upcoming, new, and legacy programs. In this role, the VSE will ensure programming readiness to ship to commerce as well as continued maintenance driven by ECR release. This person will also be responsible for monitoring and driving resolution of programming and diagnostic issues in customer vehicles.
What You’ll Do:

Author and maintain service programming framework in the DTH and GSPAS application to ensure programming capability.

Address escalations and respond to field support issues

Support FTQ initiatives

Leverage AI tools and techniques to analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement data-driven process improvements across the team.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree in engineering
-
2+ years of relevant experience
-
Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture standards and vehicle serial data communications/networks.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to function autonomously with limited direction.

Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively multi-functionally and cross-culturally.

Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skills

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge:

5+ years of relevant experience

Solid understanding of vehicle systems, working technical knowledge with prior automotive service or engineering experience, and understanding vehicle data communication protocols used in service programming

Knowledge of GM business processes, systems, and tools includes Engineering Change Management (ECM), Soft Part Release (SPR), Problem Resolution and Tracking System (PRTS), GSPAS, Vehicle Control Application Management (VCAM), Development Programming System (DPS), and JIRA.

Familiarity with GM’s Service Programming System (TLC/SPS2), and Global Diagnostics Tool (GDS 2) and their upstream authoring systems
