As a Principal Expert Factory Physics & Fab Performance (f/m/div), you will play a key role in shaping the performance of one of Europe's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing sites. By transforming manufacturing data into actionable insights, you will influence critical decisions on productivity, cycle time and capacity development. Your expertise will directly support the ramp-up of Infineon's €5 billion Smart Power Fab while helping to shape the future of Industrial Engineering in Dresden.
Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role
- Serve as the Factory Physics authority for the Dresden site, developing models that translate manufacturing complexity into actionable insights for throughput, cycle time, variability and bottleneck management
- Lead high-impact productivity programs, from identifying optimization potential to driving implementation and sustainable business results
- Provide expert guidance on complex Industrial Engineering challenges and act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across Operations, Planning, Technology, Equipment Engineering and Finance
- Define and continuously enhance local performance benchmarks, assessment methods and analytical approaches to support data-driven decision-making
- Strengthen the Industrial Engineering network through active collaboration and best-practice exchange with colleagues across Infineon's Front-End manufacturing sites
Your Profile
As Principal Expert Factory Physics & Fab Performance (f/m/div), you own the Factory Physics competence for the Dresden site. You model the fab as a physical system, identify the real bottlenecks and bring recommendations to decision -- not to filing. Your work is directly visible: in the ramp decisions of the Smart Power Fab and in the strategic roadmap of the IE cluster. You build where others optimize and shape how Industrial Engineering in Dresden will make impact over the coming years.
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
- Master's or Diploma degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Operations Research or a comparable field; PhD is a plus
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Science or Operations Research -- with demonstrable Factory Physics application in a technology-intensive high-volume manufacturing environment
- Strong expertise in Factory Physics methods, including throughput, variability, bottleneck and cycle-time analysis
- Proficiency in SQL, Python or R and common BI tools for data-driven decision-making
- Experience leading cross-functional program teams with 7–8-digit business impact and confidently engaging stakeholders up to senior management
- Hands-on experience with fab analytics and simulation tools such as Smart OEE, AutoSched, D-Simcon or AnyLogic (nice to have)
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken (B2-Niveau)
