Your Challenge
As our Senior Controls Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of the car’s control systems. Your expertise will ensure that control software, hardware, and operational processes perform flawlessly, contributing directly to race execution, car performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Designing, developing, and validating control algorithms and strategies for critical vehicle systems.
- Developing ECU software, calibration tools, and architectures to support car performance, reliability, and drivability.
- Owning the end-to-end lifecycle of control system functionality, from concept through simulation, validation, and deployment.
- Working closely with vehicle performance, systems, and electronics groups to ensure seamless system integration.
- Developing and maintaining simulation models and validation frameworks (e.g., SIL/MIL/HIL) to ensure robust performance prior to track deployment.
- Analysing data from test and race events to refine control strategies and identify performance opportunities.
- Driving continuous improvement of control system tools, methods, and processes within the factory environment.
Who We Want
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer with relevant experience, ideally gained in F1 or another high‑level motorsport environment. You will thrive under pressure, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and take ownership of critical systems in high‑stakes situations.
Experience with control systems, embedded software, ECU configuration, and race‑car electronics is essential, as is a solid understanding of vehicle systems and race engineering operations.
Proficiency in engineering tools, data analysis, and scripting (such as MATLAB, Python, or similar) is highly desirable, alongside strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
Above all, you will bring genuine passion for motorsport, a calm and methodical approach under pressure, and a desire to influence on‑track performance directly.
