The Role:
Direct Purchasing and Local Content Senior Group Manager will lead direct purchasing, VCE & PPM activities and drive the local content strategy to support business growth, supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and localization objectives.
The role is expected to drive a long-term localization strategic plan, build strong supplier partnerships, identify localization opportunities, and work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and government-related stakeholders to strengthen the local supply base and improve overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead direct purchasing activities for assigned commodities and suppliers, ensuring alignment with business, operational, and financial objectives

Develop and execute the local content strategy in line with company priorities, localization plans, and market requirements

Lead and manage VCE and PPM activities in alignment with business objectives and cross-functional priorities

Identify, evaluate, and develop local supplier opportunities to improve competitiveness, reduce risk, and support long-term sustainability

Drive sourcing decisions, commercial negotiations, and supplier selection processes to achieve the best value for the business

Ensure supply continuity and proactively manage supplier capacity, performance, quality, and delivery risks

Partner with engineering, manufacturing, finance, quality, and program teams to support new launches, changes, and ongoing operations

Track and deliver cost improvement initiatives, including localization, resourcing, negotiation, and value optimization actions

Build strong external relationships with suppliers and relevant stakeholders to enable strategic collaboration and business alignment

Lead, coach, and develop the team while promoting accountability, engagement, and high performance

Ensure compliance with internal processes, governance requirements, and purchasing policies
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualification)
Education/Experience :

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or a related field (MBA preferred).

10+ Years of experience in the field.

Strong experience in purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.

Proven ability to shape and execute forward-looking sourcing strategies that support business growth, operational resilience, and competitive advantage.

Solid understanding of local content, localization strategy, and supplier development

Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry is strongly preferred
