What We're Looking For
We are seeking a Specification Control Specialist to join our team. This role will play a key part in driving specification standardization across indirect categories to support Honda's business transformation and sustainability initiatives.
Job Purpose
The Specialist will coordinate activities across multiple divisions and stakeholders to optimize procurement processes, reduce complexity, and enable data-driven decision-making across multiple spend categories.
Key Accountabilities
Stakeholder Management
- Facilitate collaboration between internal (NAIP) and external stakeholders through Specification Development Council forums to align standardization objectives, goals, plans, and outcomes.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze spend, usage patterns, and SKU proliferation to identify duplication and rationalization opportunities.
- Partner with data and analytics teams to develop dashboards, reports, and tools to support ongoing standardization tracking.
Continuous Improvement
- Research, identify, analyze, and implement improvement opportunities across end-to-end specification standardization processes and other NAIP-related initiatives.
Change Management
- Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of standardized specifications across internal functions.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience
- 3+ years of experience in indirect procurement, supply chain, or a related technical field.
Other Job-Specific Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with familiarity in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) and data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving goals and targets.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with category management teams and suppliers to encourage collaboration and transparency.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a strong sense of purpose. Supports company direction and fosters an environment aligned with Honda's success while modeling Honda Philosophy principles and Core Values
