We have an opening for a Quality Technician on 2nd shift. As a Quality Technician, you will act as a liaison between the Quality and Manufacturing groups. You will audit, enforce and train other associates on all aspects of the quality policy. You should be self-directed and work well with minimal supervision.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reading, interpreting and understanding blueprints using GD&T
- Holding non-conforming materials and sorting through them as necessary to aid in disposition
- Filing and maintaining in-process inspection reports
- Assisting Quality Engineers in performing capability studies, gauge R&R's and analysing process variances
- Running extra testing required as part of the validation process after quarantine
- Problem solving and working with operations on shift to determine the root cause of material on hold, and making the appropriate changes to limit the amount of material placed on hold
- Performing control plan audits and updating control plans as needed
- Issuing gauges to production as necessary
- Assisting with or answering 8D assignments on customer rejects
- Updating ICPs as needed for various programs as assigned
- Generating new form/work instructions/check-sheets
- Assisting the Quality Manager and Quality Engineer as assigned and with PPAPs
- Filling in for Quality Technician and Weld Analyst positions when needed
You must have the ability to make quality decisions on production parts when necessary, and assist with organisation and set-up of outside sort or rework activities (Vendor).
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or GED
- A minimum of two years' general or specific experience in this field
- Automotive industry experience is preferred
