In a rapidly changing regulatory environment, you will be required to apply physics from first principles and knowledge of cutting-edge technology to create high-performance PU hardware on the Internal Combustion side of the powertrain. We’re looking for 3 people to join the team!
Key responsibilities of our Mechanical Design Engineers
- Delivering Engineering solutions to the agreed specification, program plan and cost.
- Investigating, containing and resolving faults to ensure there is no negative impact to the running of PUs.
- Creating, collating, and communicating the Engineering direction to the key stake holders.
- Creating and releasing detailed engineering models and technical drawings using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Removing mechanical limitations to performance development and deployment.
Actively contributing to the team’s and departments development.
- Essential competencies for our Mechanical Design Engineers
- Previous experience in developing detailed requirements from an Engineering scope.
- Competence in using one of the main CAD packages to produce 3D models and 2D Engineering drawings.
- Working experience in delivering Engineering direction when presented with imperfect data
- Mechanical (or similar discipline) Engineering degree or equivalent qualification or experience
- Experience of successful fault investigation, containment, and rectification
- Experience in designing for manufacture to improve quality, reduce cost and reduce Leadtime without sacrificing performance
- Designing from clean sheet using first principals.
