As an Electronic Hardware Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing innovative solutions within the rapidly evolving field of automotive electronics. You will be responsible for specification, development, commissioning, and validation of power inverter HW system and its subsystems. You will define and develop requirements, design, and architectures for new and existing hardware concepts in the area of power inverter controls, DC-DC converter controls, zone controller, body controller, battery management system, and driver assistance systems. You will create product-specific and complex controls electronics while balancing constraints in space, EMI/EMC, cost, and manufacturability. You will be responsible for defining detailed verification tests for the newly developed electronics and support the actual testing and troubleshooting effort to ensure success of the newly developed designs. You will create new designs and concepts within standard automotive development processes. You will have good system understanding to translate requirements of hardware coming from electronics designers and software coming from the software development teams. You will be able to work in an agile manner while operating in international teams. You will interact and communicate on technical topics with engineering teams of international customer bases.
We are looking for a driven individual who is motivated to continuously broaden their expertise in electronic hardware, contributing both at customer sites and to the development of our in-house capabilities. You will work with cutting-edge technology in collaboration with experts in the global AVL team and our successful customers. You will be working close to our local customers in the Gothenburg area within the AVL facilities or as a resident engineer at customers in Sweden.
You will have a degree in electronics/electrical/mechatronic engineering with relevant work experience in electronics and mechatronics. You will have 6-8 years of automotive demonstrable experience in the development of embedded hardware and power electronics. You will have good knowledge of handling EMC/EMI requirements, trouble-shooting, and engineering methods to maintain compliance. You will have multiple years of experience in schematic and layout design in Altium Designer and electronics simulation in LTspice. You will have knowledge of automotive domain, including design standards and design processes.
You will have excellent communication and presentation skills in English, including on-site presentations at customers. Swedish is meritorious. You will be able to adapt to customer cultures and create new opportunities to grow local expertise within the field of electromobility. You will be self-directed, systematic, and structured in your approach to work. You will be a team player with the ability to get along with a diverse set of team members. You will have a high level of integrity and responsibility. You will have a B-category driving license.
