What you'll do
The Team Lead must have the ability to run high speed packaging equipment (fillers, labelers, palletizers, depalletizers, banders, bottle sorters, box formers), operate forklifts, make machinery adjustments, perform inventory counts, and receive/put away materials. You will also need to perform multiple tasks and ensure your work areas kept clean and organized in addition to performing quality checks multiple times throughout the shift.
- Direct labor to the packaging lines, oversee training matrices, coordinate line repairs with maintenance, and over paid time off (vacation) time of all packaging techs.
- Oversight of the operation of high-speed packaging equipment to include machine adjustments and automated fillers.
- Oversight of the operation of manual packaging equipment including lifting cardboard and maintaining equipment. Performing weight checks and quality control on labels, bottles, and corrugate.
- Oversee the cleaning of others work areas, straightening, and organizing for the next shift.
- Respond to emergencies, injuries, spills. Ensure all components are needed ahead of time to ensure packaging lines run in smoothly and sequential according to the schedule.
- Operation of forklifts, receiving materials, and putting them in the correct location.
- Performing other tasks as assigned by Supervisors or Managers.
What you need
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environment
- Packaging equipment experience preferred
- Forklift experience
- Ability to walk, bend, stand, stoop, climb throughout the shift
- May be required to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work 5pm - 5am on a Pitman schedule
