Job Description
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN JOB FUNCTION:
- Responsible for repairs and troubleshooting of production equipment and building systems to maintain facility in peak operating condition. Major systems include, but not limited to; Mechanical Devices, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, HVAC, Fire protection, Electrical Distribution, Electrical Controls, and more.
- Inspection of equipment and assembly processes to prevent damage and/or determine root cause of malfunction or damage
- Reading blueprints, schematics, logic diagrams, maintenance manuals and catalogs to install, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Troubleshoot, de-bug and program PLC5, SLC500, Micrologic Controllers, Siemans PLCs and Variable Speed Drives.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Performs related tasks as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effectively work interact with supervisors, production/logistics personnel, and maintenance team members
- Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and Word
- Math skills to include but not limited to algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
- Problem solving skills to include 5-Why and Fishbone diagrams
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Effective knowledge of Predictive and Preventive maintenance principles
- Fundamentals of AC/DC electricity, motors and motor controls, transformers, automatic controls, hydraulics & pneumatics, machine tool technology, and welding.
- Minimum of three years combination of education, training, and a minimum of (1) year maintenance experience
- Experience in a JIT manufacturing environment
