What you'll do
The primary function will be the coordination of our incoming freight. Verify and ensure the accuracy of all Multimatic and supplier-owned returnable containers (totes, racks, pallets, lids and bins, etc).
- Data accuracy
- Adherence to tight receiving window times & customer requirements
- Work with our suppliers, vendors, carriers and materials analyst to enhance freight utilization
- Must have an understanding of our FIFO system and how it affects our supply chain
- Insure that all purchased components are labelled and legible for inventory accuracy
- Monitor Multimatic New Haven and supplier-owned returnable containers as well as Multimatic expendable containers to minimize shipping costs
- Must obtain a forklift license and able to operate safely and effectively
- High forklift skill level. Must be able to drive and load in confined spaces such trailers, narrow aisle ways, receiving docks, etc.
What you need
- Strong computer skills with Windows Office Suite, including proficiency in Word & Excel
- SAP experience is a plus
- Traffic and logistics experience
- Must speak, read and write fluent English
- Self-motivated and self-directed is a must as this position will have limited supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- 2-4 years' experience in shipping and/or receiving processes & procedures
