What you'll do
You'll provide strategic legal guidance and support to our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, managing legal risks, and providing expert advice on legal matters.
- Legal Strategy and Advice: Develop and implement legal strategies to support the company's regional business objectives, providing expert advice to senior management and other stakeholders on legal matters.
- Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, and review complex contracts, including commercial agreements, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions, to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across the region, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of legal professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure the team's expertise and effectiveness.
- Global Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards, and ensure that the company's regional operations comply with relevant requirements.
- Collaboration with Other Functions: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing and sales, finance, EQO, ASO, to ensure that legal requirements are integrated into business operations.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports and updates to the Regional Director of Legal Affairs on legal matters and communicate complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner.
What you need
- Minimum 10-13 years of experience in multinational companies, with a focus on corporate law and compliance.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in managing a team of legal professionals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of commercial operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
