The Role
You will be responsible for leading the architectural development, technical execution, and mentoring of engineers conducting safety simulation for a vehicle architecture and for developing integration solutions to meet vehicle requirements.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Lead early program phases for packaging design to meet safety and post-crash electrical integrity (PCEI) requirements

Develop and implement safety strategies for architectural development

Provide technical leadership for Safety engineers conducting simulations; resolve issues and ensure closed loop learning from concept to production

Coordinate and align virtual tracking vehicle selections, analytical deliverables, and program bandwidth with Safety Technical Lead’s
-
Maintain responsibility for analytical validation plans and issue tracking

Act as Safety CAE point of contact for global CAE teams; proactively manage integration issues across CAE areas and Design
-
Ensure quality, timely deliverables, and application of lessons learned across all vehicles in the architecture

Identify opportunities to improve safety simulation accuracy; participate in Technical Specialists forums and optimize hardware use in build phases
-
Stay current with CAE tools and industry trends; maintain leading CAE skills
-
Actively engage with design, integration and performance teams; interpret and communicate results to stakeholders

Mentor team members and provide architecture-related guidance on program-specific issues

Coordinate Safety Model build/release and provide subsystem performance input for requirements definition

Support optimization activities and strategies
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
-
BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Biomedical, Biomechanics Engineering or similar disciplines
-
5+ years in safety and crashworthiness integration, CAE methods, and leadership
-
Vehicle crashworthiness (front/side/rear), high voltage battery protection, and early design through simulation
-
Advanced proficiency in LS-Dyna, Primer, MetaPost, ANSA, Hyperview, Animator, LS PrePost, LS-OPT
-
Global safety regulations, consumer metrics, and program timing
-
CAE model development/release, optimization techniques (DOE), and strong analytical problem-solving
-
Autonomous Vehicle Development with Active Safety features; proven leadership and ability to manage ambiguity
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Industrial experience in cross functional and autonomous architecture work experience

CAE capability development project work and process automation experience is desirable
-
Global project experience with demonstrated ability to interact with global partners on a continual basis
