The Role: The Business Planner will be responsible for the management of strategic and tactical business-related activities among senior executive staff. Additionally, you will have the responsibility of assisting in the execution of work-related commitments, presentation development, briefing materials, customer and executive engagement. Given the volume of written materials required as if coming directly from the senior leader, the individual must possess exceptional written communication skills. What You'll Do: Support Functional Leader in the organization and running of the business (staff meetings, special assignments, etc.) Execute the portfolio/business planning process Manage and plan assignments along with priority goals and requirements in the preparation of difficult projects Develop and maintain the project business cases (deliverables, benefits, timing) Analyze execution of Functional initiatives versus the Functional Business plan Interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data and recommend solutions to unusual problems Manages budgets Execute the Functional competitive assessment process Collect and analyze key operating metrics for the group Handle a variety of special assignments Develop and conduct presentations for all levels of management Required Skill & Abilities Bachelor’s degree 5+ years of project management, strategy, or related business experience Expertise with Microsoft Tools Demonstrated experience with communication to Senior Executive Stakeholders Hands on technical or industry experience within a technology, software development or related field A positive attitude, integrity, and confidentiality Strong management skills and a reputation for being a team player Keen sense of protocol Ability to work comfortably and effectively with senior leaders and/or officers and administrative staff Strong communications skills, both written and oral Strong creativity and problem-solving skills Experience with developing senior level communication packages Obsessive attention to detail Ability to work proactively in an action-oriented and decision-making environment with limited direction and high-degrees of autonomy Reputation for being energetic, bright, hardworking, enthusiastic; willing to offer ideas, opinions, and judgments Acute political sensitivity Strong quantitative and analytical skills Proven to be a self-starter and results oriented A thorough understanding of corporate matrixed management structure with a successful track record of navigating within cross-functional teams to achieve desired results Thorough analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to provide insightful conclusions and/or recommendations Experience in managing professionals, staff members and consultants effectively, and appropriately advising/influencing senior-level corporate executives What Will Give You A Competitive Advantage: Master’s degree Previous experience as Business Planner or Chief of Staff Experience working in high-tech, software or automotive industries Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate. This role is based remotely, but if the selected candidate lives within a specific mile radius of a GM hub, they will be expected to report to the location three times a week {or other frequency dictated by your manager}.
