Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, Michigan or Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.
The Role:
The Low Voltage Infrastructure Team drives the development of systems and controls for on-vehicle low voltage power generation, energy storage, power management, distribution, and consumption control. As an Engineering Group Manager for the Low Voltage Infrastructure Systems team, you’ll lead engineers who define requirements, design, analyze, and test low voltage and power management systems. This team partners across product, systems, software, hardware, and program teams to deliver high quality solutions on time for the entire GM portfolio.
In this leadership role, you’ll shape and execute strategic plans to drive the future of low voltage infrastructure products, enhancing the customer experience! This is an assignment where leadership, creativity, initiative, analytical thinking, deep customer insight, and exceptional collaboration are crucial and celebrated!
What You'll Do:

Lead a team of engineers responsible for system requirements, design, analysis and testing related to low voltage and power management systems.

Help remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement

Work across organizations to establish and implement strategies to address gaps and challenges in low voltage and power management systems design and test

Guide team to update or invent standard work as needed in the low voltage and power management domain, aligned with systems engineering principles.

Promote innovation, new invention, and competitive analysis to ensure GM’s competitive advantage when it comes to low voltage system design and power consumption

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
-
Minimum 7+ years of engineering experience related to embedded control system, calibration, and/or complex automotive system development.

Physics-based understanding of voice-of-customer

Excellent cross-functional collaboration and negotiation skills, proven ability to establish clear team objectives, interfaces with other organizations, dependencies, and resource demand

Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity while driving timely decision making

Proven track record of developing and executing plans that evolve our organizations’ business strategy according to the future needs of the enterprise, our products, and our customers.

Working knowledge of fundamental systems engineering principles and deliverables
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Master's degree in Engineering with a focus on Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Systems Engineering.

10+ years of engineering experience related to embedded control system, calibration, and/or complex automotive system development.

2+ years of leading technical teams, either directly or indirectly

Design experience with automotive low voltage electric power related components, controls, software, subsystems, and/or architectures

Design experience with software, ECU, and feature activation and power consumption management strategies

Experience leading teams of engineers responsible for developing or testing complex automotive systems in an agile environment

Demonstrated ability to achieve results through effective teamwork and lead numerous projects with different focus areas to successful, timely completion

Proven ability to establish new ways of executing work, delivering results more effectively and efficiently

Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and partners in difficult circumstances
-
Direct experience leveraging virtual tools and models for analysis and testing.

Working knowledge of embedded controls, testing, and requirements development tool sets (i.e. Jira, DNG, Git ecosystem, ETAS INCA, etc)
