The Role The Press Center Integration Engineer works autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. The integration engineer will prepare stamping plants for launch of vehicle programs through all facets of the affected plants including processes, personnel, material, equipment, and facilities. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering team where innovation and initiative are exercised as well as independent judgment. In this role, the integration engineer will work with cross functional groups in Body Shop, Stamping Plant, Equipment teams, and Containers. This position can have a great impact on the coordination between multiple groups, ensuring interfacing responsibilities, and keeping the organization communicating to achieve goals. Individual will justify, obtain, and manage funding for top priority projects. What You'll Do Provide input to the development of new work tools including AI and simulation Lead the optimization of stamping plants in support of new vehicle programs Manage funding and timing of plant activities to support launch including answering MPS studies and participating in press project planning Regularly travel to meet with facility leadership to develop and support installation and rearrangement projects Collaborate to continuously improve standards aligned with the Bill of Equipment (BoE), Bill of Operations (BoO), Bill of Containers (BoC), Bill of Facilities (BoF), and (BoL) Bill of Layout Collaborate with suppliers, plant personnel, and others to implement cost reduction, methods, and manufacturing improvements Investigate new technology and competitive products to be implemented in stamping Prepare specifications and cost estimates for new equipment Multitask by handling multiple assignments concurrently Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field 3+ years’ experience related to sheet metal stamping manufacturing including, but not limited to, equipment, material flow, facility infrastructure, and manufacturing processes Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex subjects to a wider audience Ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative, and be self-directed What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) Education or experience in data science, AI tools, or simulation Master’s degree – technical or MBA Manufacturing experience Understanding of GM Financial processes and GM Financial investment classifications Experience in coordinating design & construction activities, preferably in automotive manufacturing facilities, including managing budget constraints and varying production schedules #LI-JK3
