General Motors is a leader in global sportscar racing, with Cadillac competing in the top-tier prototype class of IMSA and WEC, and Corvette representing GM in GT racing. These programs showcase GM’s commitment to performance, innovation, and brand storytelling on the world stage. As our presence grows, we’re expanding our communications team to support and amplify these efforts. Role Overview This role will lead communications efforts for GM’s sportscar racing programs, including Cadillac Racing in IMSA and WEC, and Corvette Racing in GT competition. The position offers a unique opportunity to shape the narrative of two iconic brands in endurance racing, manage high-profile media relations, and deliver compelling content across platforms. The candidate will be able to elevate the storytelling out of the specialist press to support each brand and our portfolio of products. Integration and amplification of our sportscar efforts across GM will be critical to success. Key Responsibilities Content Creation & Editorial Develop press releases, race reports, statements, messaging groups, driver/team quotes, and internal communications specific to Cadillac and Corvette Racing. Collaborate with creative and digital teams to produce engaging social media content and multimedia assets (photo, video, graphics). Support storytelling initiatives that highlight technical innovation, performance, team culture, and brand values. Provide content articles for GM News and brand news and press rooms. Media Relations Serve as primary media liaison for Cadillac and Corvette Racing programs. Manage media requests, interviews, and press opportunities with drivers, engineers, and team leadership. Organize media briefings, press kits, and race weekend logistics. Host media visits at race events and team facilities. Help tell compelling stories outside of the specialist media to elevate our brand narrative. Event & Race Weekend Support Provide on-site communications support at IMSA and WEC events globally. Coordinate hospitality communications and guest experience materials. Capture and distribute behind-the-scenes content for internal and external audiences. Liaise with series organizers and promoters to ensure alignment and maximize exposure. Internal Communications & Integration Develop internal updates and content for GM stakeholders, including global teams and dealer networks. Ensure regular updates across key channels including internal websites and motorsport Slack channel Ensure messaging consistency across Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GM brand teams.
This role is categorized as remote. This means the selected candidate may be based anywhere in the country of work and is not expected to report to a GM worksite unless directed by their manager.
The selected candidate will be required to travel on a regular basis (25-50%) for this role.
