The Role: GM Defense is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Capture & Proposal Manager to join our Government Solutions & Strategy (GSS) team. This role is critical to driving strategic growth across domestic and international markets, including the U.S. Department of Defense, State Department, and allied foreign governments. We are looking for a dynamic leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates initiative, and excels at working across cross-functional teams to deliver winning proposals and capture campaigns. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a “roll-up-the-sleeves” mentality and a passion for leading complex efforts from concept to contract award. What You'll Do: Lead and manage cross-functional teams to execute capture campaigns and proposal development efforts. Develop and maintain capture plans, win strategies, and customer engagement plans. Facilitate Gate Reviews, Black Hat Reviews, and Price-to-Win workshops. Analyze solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and develop compliant, compelling response materials. Manage proposal schedules, writing assignments, and production efforts. Mentor junior staff and proposal coordinators, providing guidance and training. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment and execution. Represent GM Defense in customer engagements and strategic initiatives. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in capture management, proposal development, or government contracting. Proven track record of leading winning proposals valued at $250M+. Experience working with DoD and international customers. Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, SharePoint). Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally. Eligible to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire. Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee). What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Master’s degree in Business, Communications, or Engineering. Formal capture and proposal management training (e.g., Shipley). Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., C2P, Sales Force or Microsoft Dynamics 265) Experience with joint ventures, teaming agreements, and various contracting vehicles. Familiarity with GMD core technologies and offerings. Experience leading international business development and capture efforts. The successful candidate must have eligibility to access classified information at that level. Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate. • The salary range for this role is $138,900 - $214,000. This role is based remotely, but if the selected candidate lives within a specific mile radius of a GM hub, they will be expected to report to the location three times a week {or other frequency dictated by your manager}.
