Job Purpose
The Digital Product Management (DPM) Team Lead is responsible for projects, system enhancements and portfolio support of the Honda Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications and the related Digital Model Management platform.
This includes tools, methods and processes necessary for the development and verification of today's advanced products, including Automotive, Power Sports, and Power Equipment. The Digital Product Management has a large user base and is complex due to multiple interconnected global application platforms.
Key Accountabilities
New Technology Implementation - Work to Implement new solutions with some decisions/autonomy and supervisory. Evaluate/assure quality and performance.
Planning and near-term strategy – Analysis and understanding of future need and benefits. Setting steps to get it done..
People & Resource Management – Assure work is being done toward div. goals. People - Set goals, development, evaluation
Keep the budget and resource optimization for the DPM Team.
Advanced Leadership – Set high level, long-term direction & vision that influences the stakeholders and their management to follow that direction.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Engineering or IT Bachelor Degree or equivalent job experience
Minimum Experience:
9 years of overall experience, out of which 4+ years should be in a supervisory capacity
Qualified candidates must have expert knowledge of at least 2 of these disciplines:
o Product development principles (Design, BOM, Specification, Testing)
o Enterprise Product Lifecyle Management Applications (DS 3DExperience, ARAS Innovator, Siemens Teamcenter or similar)
o Mechanical engineering principles (Stress, strain, force, mass, etc.)
o Design and Manufacturing Applications (CAD, CAE, CAM or CAT)
Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of at least 2 of these IT disciplines:
o Computer Operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX, IBM mainframes), relational databases (e.g. - Oracle, IBM DB2) and application administration
o Demonstrable programming skills in any of these, e.g. – C++, C#, Java
o Scripting languages expertise in Python and/or Perl.
o Fundamentals of DevSecOps framework
o Agile Development methods and SDLC
Other Job-Specific Skills
Ability to communicate clearly in writing or verbally and adapt style depending on audience
Expert knowledge of product and manufacturing development lifecycles
Expertise at project & resource planning
Expertise in resource and budget planning
Proficiency in managing vendors
Proficiency in developing a strategic plan
Workstyle
Must be in a position to work in the office at least 4 days per workweek. 1 remote workday a week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
