Job Purpose
This Software QA Analyst II role ensures the quality and functionality of our software products through rigorous testing and analysis of various applications which help to bring exciting products to Honda’s customers
Key Accountabilities
Tactical / Task:
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.Perform and or facilitate manual and automated testing on various software applications.
Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
Maintain and update test documentation and reports in Jira
Collaborate with the development team to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Conduct regression testing to verify that existing functionality is not affected by new changes.
Participate in requirement reviews and provide input on testability and quality.
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their enhancement requests and document test scenarios and test cases.
Maintain and update test documentation and reports.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing.
Co-ordinate with the business team / end users User Acceptance Testing
Support and monitor application updates, system maintenance, annual support improvement initiatives.
Planning and near-term strategy:
Plan and schedule annual support and administration tasks in the NASC systems domain.
Work with Global Honda IT, NA Business Units and IT vendors to plan annual projects and tasks based on the unit’s application roadmap.
Maintain application development roadmaps for NA user
People and Resource Management:
Consult and coordinate with vendor contracted application support experts to ensure proper end user support.
Work with other developers, business analyst, scrum master to create consistent deliverables.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum education:
An undergraduate (Associate or Bachelors) level degree in information Technology (IT), Computer Science or a related field of study, or equivalent relvant work experience.
Minimum experience:
2+ years of Proven experience as a Software Tester or similar role.
Proficiency in using Jira or comparable tools for test case management and defect tracking.
Familiarity with various testing methodologies and tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience with automated testing tools is a plus.
Other job-specifc skills:
Communication and change leadership – Effectively engage key IT support members and sponsors in change management activities
Strong understanding of the Automotive Supply Chain Domain
Workstyle
Must be able to work onsite at least 4 days per workweek in the office. One remote workday per week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
