The first American Formula 1 team to compete in the sport since 1986, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team made an immediate impression with a memorable points-scoring debut at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix. Nine years later, and the team continues to demonstrate growth and a clear direction with its future objectives – coming off the back of its second-best season to-date in Formula 1.

General Summary:
This position reports to the Trackside Operations Manager or their designee and is located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems within the race team garage at Formula 1 events and test sessions. The role also supports on-car operations during all sessions throughout each Grand Prix weekend. Additional duties include assembling and maintaining the presentation of garage equipment at events, as well as preparing and loading equipment for transport via sea and air freight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
- Candidate must hold 18th edition qualification.
- Safe installation, maintenance and testing of the garage electrical wiring in accordance with BS7671/ BS7909.
- Fault finding and quick rectification of faults that occur on the garage electrical systems and working with the trackside reliability team to ensure faults are reported correctly with immediate solutions and permanent fix recommendations.
- Construction of the garage environment at tests and races including bannering system, overhead lighting, charging equipment, UPS backup systems and use of generators where required.
- Plan, build and commission new garage electrical equipment.
- Assist with the loading and transportation of all road, air and sea freight, ensuring it is correctly and safely loaded on-time for transportation in accordance with known consignor regulations (known consignor training provided).
- Supporting the on-car race team during running sessions, ensuring that the team operates in an efficient, professional and safe manner at all times.
- Assist with maintenance of pit equipment and preparation of tyres.
- Creation of drawings and associated documentation to provide the team with detailed information regarding installation, operation and maintenance of garage electrical equipment and wiring.
- Assist with the procurement of electrical parts required for repairs and manufacturing of new garage equipment.
- Annual calibration of test equipment such as multimeters and multifunction testers.
- Actively progress allocated annual improvement, development & reliability projects under the direction of the Trackside Operations Manager where required.
- Provide feedback, so improvements can be continuously monitored and implemented for off car installations, tooling, design standards and operational processes and procedures.
- Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
- Other duties as assigned by the Trackside Operations Manager or their designee.
Education and Work Experience:
Essential qualifications/ Experience:
- GCSE, High School Diploma or equivalent
- Served a recognized, relevant apprenticeship or undergone equivalent training or hold adequate electrical knowledge and skills in electrical installation, maintenance and testing.
- City and guilds 18th edition BS7671 requirements for electrical installations
- Training in BS7909 temporary electrical systems
- Fault finding and testing experience
- PAT testing experience
Qualifications/ Experience that would be advantageous:
- JIB gold card holder
- City and Guilds 2391/ 2394/ 2395 testing and inspection qualification
- Experience in a motorsport environment

- Solid computer knowledge, preferred experience in Microsoft Office products.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to follow regulations related to shipment of materials.
Work Environment Physical Demands:
An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require extensive domestic and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.
This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
