The Role:
We are seeking a Capital Project Execution Engineer who will be responsible for managing capital project at the Milford Proving Grounds (MPG). A successful candidate should be capable of supporting all aspects of project management, including development and execution of project plans, writing Statement of Requirements (SOR’s) for equipment purchases, as well as Statements of Work (SOW’s) for facilities work request for project installs. This work requires strong organizational skills, problem solving, learning agility, and analytical skills. Tasks, objectives, project priorities and finances are provided by EGM or Building/Project owners. Job also requires the ability to multi-task and work well in a self-directed environment. The engineer works as an integral member of a broader team with a common goal of standardized project execution so that the executed projects have a common look and feel across the many building at MPG.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Lead Project Planning and Requirements Definitions
- Responsible for preparation of Statement of Requirements (SOR) for Process Equipment Purchase Orders
- Responsible for preparation of Statements of Work (SOW) for facilities Purchase Orders
- Responsible for Project Financial Forecasting and weekly/monthly financial reporting
- Responsible to execute projects with quality on time and within Budget
- Responsible to coordinate collaboration between customers / stakeholders / contractors / process equipment suppliers.
- Collaborate with Facilities Engineering team for utilities requirements
- Leads design / safety and peer review
- Responsible for Standardized Execution of Capital Project that follows an established standard (Project Execution Outline)
- Responsible to share Lessons Learned with peers
- Responsible for communicating Project Status to leadership and stakeholders
- Responsible for proper handover of project to operations groups.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelors of Science degree or a minimum of 3 Years of Project Execution Experience
- Can work independently as well as possesses high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with small and large teams
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills including MS Office capability (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project)
- Has the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently (multitasking)
- Excellent electrical/mechanical hardware troubleshooting skills
- Able to make decisions quickly and decisively based on data and results to resolve test and product issues
- Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and drawings
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- 5+ Years of project execution experience – large, medium or small
- Experience in GM Controls
- Strong MS Project Skills
- Project Management Professional Certification (Acquired or in pursuit of)
- Familiarity with Electrification technology such as power electronics and motors
- Experience in a high voltage laboratory
