The Health & Safety (HS) Specialist will lead and support H&S initiatives across 14 diverse sites including a Warehouse, Head Office, Experience Centre, Retail Centres, and Service Factories. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety standards across the business. The position is approximately 50% field-based and 50% office-based,
Responsibilities:
- Review and enhance the H&S management system to meet legal and operational requirements
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH, RIDDOR, Fire Safety, etc.)
- Deliver monthly H&S performance reports and support strategic planning
- Facilitate and deliver H&S training to build team capability
- Conduct and support incident investigations with root cause analysis
- Provide site visits and safety inspections to ensure compliance and identify improvements
- Lead and review risk assessments, including task-based and event-specific
- Promote a safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and challenging unsafe behaviours
- Develop and maintain a risk-based H&S audit program
- Liaise with external bodies, consultants, and suppliers; support Porsche's EHS system and H&S projects
- Assist in event safety planning and execution, ensuring all activities meet safety standards
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- Educated to Degree Level
- Full, valid UK Driving Licence
- IOSH Membership
- Strong understanding of statutory compliance, auditing, and training
Desirable Qualification:
- Proven experience in retail and/or automotive environments preferred
- Ability to influence and lead across multiple functions and levels
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
- High attention to detail and a solutions-focused mindset
- Energetic, adaptable, and persistent in driving change and improvement
- Demonstrates a proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take initiative, solve problems, and contribute positively to team goals
