Vehicle Systems Engineer, Wiring Schematics
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Global Technical Center in Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
As a Vehicle Systems Engineer, Wiring Schematics, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of harness part information and associated documentation to our supplier partner and supporting the next development, deployment, and operation of the next generation dynamically generated rendered wiring. This role is critical to maintaining high-quality data standards, supporting publication readiness, and driving continuous improvement in wiring harness data workflows. You will collaborate closely with internal engineering teams, supplier contacts, and process owners to ensure seamless data exchange, schematics presentation and issue resolution.
What You’ll Do
Wiring Harness Data Delivery & Quality

Deliver harness part number sources to supplier 100% on schedule.

Provide harness documentation to supplier for all types of prints (e.g. Main, non-main harnesses, etc)

Address harness data quality issues raised by supplier.

Review harness-related ECRs/VCDs for publications with one milestone (LCI) or changed SORP milestones to determine if SI updates are needed.

Ensure supplier resolves internal feedback/issues within an average of 10 business days

Transition internal feedback workflows from email/IM to Jira.

Maintain and innovate data sharing and insight generation through PowerBI report
eDiagnostics Development & Implementation

Support launch of VIN-specific eDiagnostics service schematics for dealer usage.

Support development of the eDiagnostics feature roadmap for post-MVP enhancements.

Document eDiagnostics service schematic development workflows.

Create training and authoring plans for eDiagnostics schematic development.

Develop program implementation plans and wind-down strategy for GSA-authored publications
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in harness design, electrical systems, or service information.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with Jira, SID, and publication workflows

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
