The Role: The  Staff AI Engineer  is responsible for supporting and reinforcing the adoption of AI Software Engineering across the MFG IT organization with the goal of establishing significant improvements in the Manufacturing space relative to manufacturing productivity/efficiency. The  Staff AI Engineer  will drive the identification, evaluation, and adoption of rapid iterative and incremental computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning software solutions together with Junior and Principal AI Engineers and our Manufacturing Engineering business partners. Identify opportunities to update and/or streamline the current AI and GM Robotics Engineering processes together with Manufacturing Engineering SMEs. Define and develop ML solutions in real-world environments. Computer Vision solutions in real-world environments. Ability to digest, design and deploy solutions based on research artifacts. Simulation Data Visualization Designing solutions at scale (minimize operational overhead). End to end understanding of systems and interfaces, so solutions can be built to fit within constraints. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):  Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Data Science In-depth Knowledge and experience with software development In-depth experience designing, training, testing and deploying deep learning models for vision applications In-depth experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or Keras 10+ years of software engineering experience 10+ years of AI, ML, and/or data science experience In-depth Experience with Ops, MLOps and/or LLMOps What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): PhD Publications In-depth knowledge of ML fundamentals Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying ML solutions for real world applications Experience in Cloud Technologies such as Docker, K8, and more generically on HPC platforms Knowledge in Java/C#, Python, SQL, C/C++ Strong analytical skills and the ability to think outside the box Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. The salary range for this role is $185,600 - $285,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
