Job Purpose
The SAP Interface Systems Senior Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining and optimizing system integrations across the enterprise.
This position coordinates closely with Application Managed Services (AMS), legacy application teams, technical Subject Matter Experts, functional Subject Matter Experts, and Business Process Owners to ensure seamless data flow, resolve incidents, and support both legacy and project-driven changes within the region.
The role supports integration development and testing efforts for GSAP applications, legacy systems, and cross-functional project teams. It also involves proactively identifying opportunities to improve integration processes and solve system-related challenges. Staying current with industry trends and SAP integration tools is essential, especially in preparation for the upcoming migration to SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud.
This position requires a strategic mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure integration solutions.
Key Accountabilities
Interface Management:
Administer and support SAP interfaces including IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and web services.
Monitor and troubleshoot interface errors and performance issues.
Ensure data integrity and timely processing across integrated systems.
Provide level 2 interface support
System Integration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new integrations.
Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure secure and reliable data exchange.
Maintain documentation for interface architecture, data flows, and technical specifications.
Assist Regional Business Process Owners (BPOs) with SAP integration design and tools knowledge. Escalate to Macro Process Owners (MPOs) and Interfaces Services Lead as required to comply with design and documentation standards.
Project Leadership:
Lead or support integration-related projects including upgrades, migrations, and new business unit onboarding.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Partner with business analysts to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
Compliance & Governance:
Ensure interfaces comply with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
Implement and maintain SLAs and KPIs for interface performance and reliability.
Support SOX & ITGC Audits and walk-throughs.
Tools & Technologies:
Utilize tools such as SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI, UPerform, Power BI, and Power Automate.
Support automation and reporting initiatives related to interface operations.
Maintain Kan Ban Board to track inbound interface work items (Change Requests, Projects, Incidents, and Problems) through to completion
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
At least 5 years in an SAP IT operations role
At least 5 years SAP interface integration tool experience (PIPO; CPI; MFT; etc.)
Experience with S/4 HANA integration tools (BTP) Other Job-Specific Skills
Communication
Root cause analysis in an SAP integration role
Problem Solving in an SAP integration role.
Workstyle
Must be able to work onsite at the Honda, Marsyville, OH office at least 4 days per workweek. One remote workday a week may be possible with prior departmental approval.
