Foundations Enablement – Project Management Lead
As the Foundations Enablement Project Management Lead at General Motors, you will play a critical role in shaping and driving global HR technology initiatives while also leading and developing a team of Project Managers. You and your team will help with hands-on execution, ensuring work is delivered effectively and aligned to the right areas of the Foundations Enablement organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers, fostering growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide direction and support to ensure high-quality project planning, execution, and delivery across the portfolio.
- Promote knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and consistent application of project methodology across the team.
- Drive performance management, career development, and team engagement initiatives.
Work Intake & Organizational Alignment
- Review incoming project requests, assess scope, and determine appropriate ownership.
- Partner with leadership to ensure project prioritization aligns with strategic objectives.
- Establish and maintain clear intake and triage processes to ensure transparency and consistency.
Project Planning, Execution & Reporting
- Oversee the development and management of project plans covering system implementations, integrations, and upgrades.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Monitor project health and provide consolidated reporting on progress, risks, and dependencies across the portfolio.
Project Methodology
- Ensure delivery of projects in alignment with established methodology.
- Continuously refine and optimize project practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Engage with HR leadership and key stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and outcomes.
- Provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders at all levels.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external partners to support project success.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement opportunities for improving HR processes and project delivery practices.
- Champion adoption of best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Vendor Management
- Oversee relationships with HR technology vendors, ensuring timely and quality delivery of products and services.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience delivering projects within enterprise-level organizations
- Proven experience managing and developing a team of Project Managers or related professionals.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence
- Curiosity in evaluating HR trends
- Demonstrated success working in an agile project delivery environment.
- Solid understanding of HR processes and best practices.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2, HRMP)
- Proficiency with WorkDay & ServiceNow
- Experience delivering HR Technology projects (e.g., Absence, Benefits, Compensation, DE&I, HCM, Labor, Learning, Mobility, Offboarding, Onboarding, Recruitment & Succession Planning).
