This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Cole Engineering Center in Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Global Purchasing and Supply Chain team is seeking an experienced buyer to support our Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) organization. As a Customer Care and Aftersales Senior Buyer at General Motors, you will have the following responsibilities:

Manage the purchase and on-going supply of parts for our service customers

Develop and maintain strong relationships with our related supplier partners

Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements

Work with Engineering, Product, Production Purchasing and Supply Chain, and CCA team partners to address purchase or supply risks
Required Experience / Skills:
-
Experience: 5+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development.

Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Experience / Skills:

Automotive Experience: Deep understanding of the automotive industry and proven ability to manage related challenges.

Materials Management: Experience in managing supply chain processes and procurement strategies to reduce operational costs.

Market Data Interpretation: Ability to evaluate market trends and demand forecasts to drive purchasing decisions.

Engineering Document Proficiency: Competent in reading technical blueprints and basic engineering documents to support project planning and purchasing decisions.

Contract Law Knowledge: Well-versed in the legal aspects of purchasing including in relation to purchasing processes and negotiations.

Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related advanced degree a plus.
